Aida Smallwood

Aida (Mia) Smallwood peacefully passed in her sleep on February 23rd, 2018. Aida was born on March 14, 1981 in San Diego, CA, to Terry and Danny Smallwood. She attended Patrick Henry High School where she was involved in choir and dance.
In 2003 Aida gave birth to her first child, Jonathyn, and three years later to a second beautiful son, Jacob. Aida's children were her greatest joy and her entire world. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family and was happiest when at home with her boys.
In her spare time Aida loved to fish (yes, even on her lunch break!), sing karaoke, draw, dance, cook meals for her family and friends and, above all, to spend time with her two boys.
Everyone who knew Aida loved her - her laugh was infectious, her smile ready and easy. She was fiercely loyal to her boys and to every friend and family member fortunate enough to know her. Aida had a presence that drew people to her instantly, and was blessed with both quick wit and kindness in equal measure. She had a huge heart and was generous to a fault.
Aida is survived by her mother, Terry Bell of Converse, TX, and father, Danny Smallwood, of Duluth, GA; sons Jonathyn (14) and Jacob (11); Grandmother Aida Ahles of Alpine, CA; sisters Tonia Smallwood Hagerla and Danielle Ahles, her loving boyfriend, and numerous family and friends who were so blessed to have known and loved her.
Mia's family welcomes all her friends, coworkers and acquaintances to a memorial service in her honor at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Saturday, March 3rd. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pastor Ryan Russell of Victory Assembly of God will conduct the memorial service at 1:00p.m.
