Billy
Perez
November 21, 1942 – March 3, 2026
Billy Perez, was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Amelia Perez. Billy was the middle child among six brothers and one sister. At the age of 83, Billy went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to his family.
Billy was a man of God who remained true to His word throughout his life. As an avid member of his congregation, he welcomed friends and family to hear the Word of God. He often invited his sons, William and Jimmy, to play their guitars and sing during services.
Billy worked at the local Coca-Cola company as a delivery driver and later worked as a
mechanic. His son Steward shared, “My dad was incredibly smart and instrumental. Starting as a Coca-Cola delivery driver, he later became instrumental in developing an anti-theft mechanism. He found his niche, and I look forward to the day I meet him again.” Billy enjoyed working with his hands and was known for his ability to fix and create many things.
Outside of his work, fishing brought him great happiness and became a special way for him to spend time with those he loved. His son Tom shared, “Later in life, I was able to take Poppa deep sea fishing, and in a way we redeemed that moment of previously losing a fish we had hooked in the past. We were able to catch a big fish together, a memory I will hold onto forever.”
Billy also loved baking bread for his family. His son William shared, “Those who tasted it knew the love he put into every loaf, especially his banana bread.”
Above all, Billy loved his family and was proud of the generations that followed him. His son Jimmy shared, “To my dad, I wouldn't have changed anything about him, because he raised hardworking men and lived to see 10 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren.”
Billy leaves behind his loving wife, Lydia Perez; his sons William, Jimmy, Steward, and Tom; many grandchildren; his brothers Roy, Ray, and Ricardo; and his sister Elva. His wife Lydia shared, “My beloved husband, how I will miss you. You were a great father to our four boys, and I will never forget the memories we shared.”
His life will remain a reflection of faith, love, and dedication to those closest to him.
