Carolyn Hurst

Carolyn Lynette (Brand) Hurst, 52, passed away unexpectedly August 12, 2022, at home in Converse, TX where she has been a resident for 11 years. The world welcomed Carolyn on January 1, 1970, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the daughter of Freddie Stevens and Cinderella (Brand) Robinson. She graduated high school, attended college, earned a bachelors and eventually a masters. Carolyn was afforded the opportunity to travel the world for work and in her personal time and live in many places, within the US and abroad. She was a small business owner of a home healthcare company and other ventures under her enterprise LLC. Carolyn may have had some struggles but lived a full and warm life, filled with joy, tenacity, kindness, and a love for God that led her to serve others, giving of her time and talents. An avid gardener, Carolyn spent many hours tending to her plants with her dogs at her feet. She will be forever loved, fondly remembered, and sorely missed. Her loss is deeply felt.
Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Dominique (Brand) Millen and Juanea (Brand) Bass, five grandchildren (A’mir, A’biela, Caelyn, Alassandra, and Amarii') whom she loved with all her heart, her mother (Cinderella (Brand) Robinson), brothers (Robert Lee Stevens, Ronald Stevens, Carl Brand), and sisters (Katie (Stevens) Smith, Thelma (Stevens) Muse, Patricia (Stevens) Tillotson, Sheryl (Stevens) Johnson, Karen (Brand) Sanford). She was preceeded in death by her father (Freddie Stevens) and brothers (Freddie Stevens Jr., Jimmie Stevens, Wesley Stevens Sr.).
