Cary Clark

July 19, 1967 — May 30, 2022

San Antonio, Texas

Cary L. Clark was born on July 19, 1967, to Ms. Annie L. Clark & Verdell L. Jackson. Proceeded in death by his loving grandmother Mrs. Elmira E. Clark, Grandfather Herman Clark, Jr., and his loving stepfather, Mr. John L. Taylor.

Cary came into this world fighting to live, after the doctor said that it would be a miracle if he and his twin brother, Gary, would make it through the night. Cary didn't weigh a pound and Gary only weighed 1.5 pounds.

Cary was one of my miracles, always putting others before himself. And he loved to learn everything he could about life.

He loved working with his hands and was always building something. He and his friend, that he met working at Home Depot, built there first house together. He was truly excited, because when the house had to have proper coding, they got an approval on the first inspection. He would always say, "If you do it right the first time, you wouldn't have do it again." He hated to mess up anything he was working on. You could call him a perfectionist.

Cary attended school in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was born. He attended Sheltering Arms Day Care, where he graduated from kindergarten. He then went to Cook Elementary School from second grade, but later transferred to Thomasville Elementary, graduating with honors and perfect attendance.

This is where Cary found his love for military life in ROTC, under the leadership of Sgt. Jasper.

He later attended George Washington Carver Comprehensive High School, where he continued along with his twin brother. This is where Cary really learned how to make a difference in the world. He would always say, "I am going to serve my country to help keep us safe." However, he only served a four-year term.

He was on the honor roll until graduation, being best dressed cadet. He earned the titles of best drill performances with the rifle team, became Co-Captain of the Battalion, and EXO under the leadership of his twin brother, Lt. Colonel Gary L. Clark. He also earned the "Who's Who" of American High School Students. He truly made us proud.

After enrolling in the U.S. Army, he wanted to make a difference for his country, he always dreamed of getting his mom and his brothers out of public housing, which he did!

After a long-distance relationship with the love of his life, Miss Loreta Sena Magbanua, he went to the Philippines to meet her, and to ask her parents for her hand in marriage. After two years of their union, they were blessed with their first daughter, Kylie A. Clark, and two years later they were blessed with their second daughter, Zuri J. Clark.

Cary is missed dearly by his family members and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His loving wife, Loreta M. Clark; daughters, Kylie A. Clark & Zuri J. Clark; his loving mother Mrs. Annie Clark-Taylor; three brothers, Daron D.Clark, Gary L. Clark, & Mark G. Taylor; one loving great-aunt Mrs. Blanche Gwinn; five aunts and two uncles, Mrs. Mildred C. Heard, Mrs. Ruby C. Bolden, Mr. & Mrs. Jesse and Essie C. Magsby, Mr. & Mrs. William and Lula C. Howard; special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Chris and Lisa Harris, and their cousins, Mr & Mrs. David and Sherry Harris; in-laws, the Davis & Lewis families; brother & sister in-laws from the Philippines; and a slew of cousins, family and friends.
