Christopher “Chris” Herrera was called home unexpectedly at the young age of 48 to be with the Lord on August 15, 2022. Chris was born on January 21, 1974 in the small town of Seguin, Texas to proud parents, Alfredo and Frances Herrera, and was one of four siblings. He was raised in San Antonio, Texas and attended Judson High School. It was during this time that he met and fell in love with the love of his life of 28 years, Tara Kaciena Herrera. Chris was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and lifelong friend to many. His passion was taking care of his family which included 2 daughters; Bailey Nicole Herrera, Ellieanna Kaciena Herrera and granddaughter; Sophia Rose Rosales. One of his proudest accomplishments as a father was being heavily involved with Ellieanna’s promising journey to becoming an extremely talented volleyball player at Samuel Clemens High School. This included attending every game or tournament and devoting his spare time to the athletic booster club. His talents and vast knowledge seemed endless to all that knew him, which gave him the ability to always lend a helping hand whenever asked or needed by anyone. This also helped him to recently achieve his goal of starting his own blade sharpening business, known as Preferred Edge. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law; James Harry Leamon. He is survived by his loving wife; Tara Kaciena Herrera, daughters; Bailey Nicole Herrera, Ellieanna Kaciena Herrera, granddaughter; Sophia Rose Rosales, parents; Alfredo and Frances Herrera, siblings; Joel Herrera, Roxanne Nicole Villalobos (Ben Villalobos), Aaron Matthew Herrera, mother-in-law; Mary Kaciena Leamon, sister-in-law; Jamie LeAnn Arellano, nephews; Jadon Leamon, Ashton Arellano, Ezra Villalobos, Wyatt Estrada and nieces; Madeline Rodriguez and Emily Villalobos. He will forever be remembered as a loyal San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys fan. His voice and fulfillment of life will echo on through all those that knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
