Dian
Tyrance
Jan 14, 1950 — May 16, 2026
Dian Tyrance, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at age 76. Born to Kathleen Sparks, Dian was the eldest of three and learned early the importance of caring for others - a value she carried throughout her life. She shared a lifelong bond with her sisters, Angela and Thelma, whose love and laughter remained a constant source of strength.
She married her soulmate, 1st Sgt. Edmund L. Tyrance, on October 20. 1970, in Basel, Switzerland. Together for 60 years and married for 56, their union created one loving family where siblings became one - no in-laws, only brothers and sisters united by faith and love. Dian bonded deeply with Edmund's sisters and felt blessed to gain five more sisters through marriage.
A proud military spouse, Dian worked in civil service for many years, retiring from Military Pay at Fort Sam Houston after two decades of dedicated service. She was gifted with numbers, creativity, and a talent for home decorating and remodeling. Known as the "Hostess with the Mostess", she welcomed everyone with warmth, soul food, and her famous fried chicken and 7-Up cake.
Dian loved music from Motown to Gospel, and her joy was reflected in every part of her life. She shared a lifelong sisterhood with her dear friends. "The Lizards" - Gloria, Gertie, and Priscilla - who supported and loved one another through all seasons.
She was a devoted mother to Kimberly and Andrea, and a loving grandmother to Danyale, Cameron, and Ciara. Dian was also a devoted mother-in-law to Stephen "Doc" Williams and Danny Fernandez. She cherished Stephen's company - their time together was always full of joy and laughter - and she was deeply grateful for the father Danny became to Danyale after Andrea's passing. Her nurturing spirit extended to all of Kimberly's and Andrea's friends, whom she loved as her own. A faithful member of the Berean Bible Fellowship for over 30 years, Dian's life was anchored in faith, compassion, and service. Her legacy of love and strength will live on in every heart she touched.
