MSgt Edward A. Hernandez, age 50, of San Antonio, Texas, has gone peacefully to be with our Lord on August 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 10, 1975 in San Antonio, Edward lived a life of honor, service, and devotion to both his country and his loved ones.

Edward proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 24 years of distinguished service at the rank of Master Sergeant. Throughout his career, he was admired for his leadership, integrity, and dedication to duty. His time in the Air Force shaped him into a man of discipline and strength, but also one with a big heart who cared deeply for others.

After Edward’s retirement he chose to move back home to San Antonio and began a career in real estate making new friends who were able to experience the amazing person he was. He also began working for the Department of Home Land Security Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Beyond his military service, Edward was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, godfather and friend. He will be remembered for his strength, selflessness, loyalty, confidence, mentoring of others, contagious smile and laughter, his natural flair for style and presence, and how he would brighten a room when he walked in. His Energy and Vibe was one of a kind. He touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Edward is survived by sons, Edward Anthony Hernandez Jr, Michael Paul Hernandez II, Elias Jovan Hernandez, and Jaedyn Lee-Anthony Hernandez, his faithful best friend, Nipsey, his French Bulldog, his second parents Isaac and Alicia Korrodi, brother Isaac G. Korrodi, sisters Linda A. Rubio, Norma Valdez, and Lauren Calandres (nieces: Michaela and Allyrie), his girlfriend Sandra Martinez, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces and was preceded in death by grandparents Fabian M. Garza and Guadalupe V. Garza, mother Leticia G. Hernandez, and brother Michael Anthony Hernandez. His family and friends take comfort in knowing he has gained his wings resting peacefully knowing he is reunited with the loved ones who have gone before him.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time, as well as to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Brook Army Medical Center, Methodist, and Kindred Hospital whose tireless dedication, compassion, and care gave Edward strength and comfort throughout his fight. Edward faced his health journey with courage and determination, never losing his spirit. His legacy of strength, love, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
