Eric went to sleep in Jesus on September 9, 2023. He was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and graduated from Oshawa Missionary College (now Kingsway College). He immigrated to the United States and studied at Andrew’s University before joining the US Army. He served in the Army for 33 years with assignments in Korea, Vietnam, Germany as well all over the United States. He served as a dental technician then licensed vocational nurse, rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class. After serving in Vietnam, he was selected for the first class of the Army-Baylor Physicians Assistant (PA) program and served as a PA for his last 20 years in the Army, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer Four. He continued to work as a civilian PA for 15 more years at a rural health clinic in Freer, Texas, then he and Ruth Ann retired to Windcrest, Texas where they have lived for the past 16 years.
Surviving him is his wife of 60 years, Ruth Ann; daughter Sonja Rossow and her husband Jon, son Stephen and his wife Cheryl, granddaughter Morgan Saxton and her husband Tucker, Grandson Ryan, and great granddaughter Everlyn.
He will be laid to rest at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on September 28, 2023 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for support of the charity Still Serving Veterans. Donations can be made at https://ssv.org/donate/give-in-honor-or-memory or by calling (256) 384-7274
