Jamie Dale, of San Antonio, TX passed away on June 13, 2025. Jamie was born on March 22, 1978. Jamie graduated from the University of Texas in May 2000 and received her master’s from the University of North Texas in 2002. She began teaching in Dallas, then Austin, and then finally at NEISD for over 20 years. She began as teaching Spanish at Wood Middle School, then at Eisenhower Middle School. She then taught Reading and English (ESL) until she took a medical retirement in 2024. Jamie loved teaching and all her students. She was always trying to find ways to better instruct her students as well, making her lessons motivational. She also loved crafting, reading, traveling, and going to the beach, and most of all Taylor Swift and her Texas Longhorns. She was a “Swiftie” as well as a true longhorn.
In 2018, Jamie was diagnosed with Breast cancer. After chemotherapy and radiation her cancer went into remission. However, in June 2021, she was advised that her cancer had metastasized. She was a brave warrior pushing through the various treatments that she received throughout the years. She had such strength and determination and was fighting through each treatment and all its challenges. In the end it was not enough, and she finally lost her battle.
Jamie is survived by her husband, Benjamin (Ben) Dale, her mother, Norma Flores, and her brother Greg Flores. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Rosa and John Hart; Margaret and Ben Sauceda, Gloria and Harold Huslage, and Sandra and Daryl Sanders and uncle Jamie Bustos and cousins Yvette Hart, Andrew Hart, Veronica and Todd Russell, Melody, Christopher, and Jonathan Huslage, and Sarah (Reagan) Hansen, and second cousin Holly Russell.
