Janet Harper

January 22, 1934 — February 15, 2016

Janet Lois Mooney Harper went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2016. Born on January 22nd, 1934 in Del Rio, Texas to Joseph T. Mooney and Ora B. Mooney (nee Nichols), they soon moved to the Harlandale area of south San Antonio. There, she met Robert Harper and they married in 1953, and moved to Kirby, Texas, where she became instrumental in the founding of Kirby Baptist Church and remained an active member for the rest of her life. She worked and retired from South Western Bell. In addition to the church, Janet also enjoyed her time with the Girl Scouts,Bunco and entertaining family and friends at their lake house. Janet leaves behind, Robert, her husband of sixty-two years, her daughters Pamela Harper, Sandra Harper, and Robin Kronk (Kenneth); Grandchildren Jamie Pate (Greg), Kody Kronk and Tasha Tuch; great grandchildren Zachariah Pate and Aubree Sanchez. Also, her brothers J.T., Billy and Terry Mooney, her sister Avis Christoff. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers. A visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78239 on February 18, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral, also at Chapel Hill, will be on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:30 AM. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Janet's name can be made to: St. Jude's Hospital, P.O. 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or; Shriner Children' Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550.
