Jerry Lee Lewis died on January 8, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.Jerry was both retired military and federal service. He was born in Hoffman( Dighton-Bartlett), Oklahoma on October 5, 1937. He was raised by his grandparents Fred and Mary Jane Doremous, who were tenant( sharecropper) farmers.

His survivors are his brother Joseph Nicotra and wife Marylin, Dallas Texas; sisters Vicky Brumfield of Raceland, LA.; and April Orsuto of Cherry Hills, NJ.; his cousin Carolyn Faulkner Phipps of Springfield, MO.; Gunther and Kaete Neumann and their children Marcus, Torsten and Merle of Rasteda, Germany; his dogs Mai, Dew Drop and Inn. Wonderful friends, Hans and Hanne-Lore Sunder of Katy, Texas; Heidi Jones, Wilson and Popi Evans, Rick, and Mai Davis, Mary Adcox, Jeanette Gittinger, Opal Drake, all of San Antonio and Chuck Homola of Bulverde.

Jerry was a graduate of the University of Kansas City, Kansas University and Ball State University. Jerry always enjoyed table games, dancing, riding, water skiing and roller skating. In later life he learned to play bridge which was a life changing thing due to the fun and wounderful people he met. Several of Jerry’s favorite sayings were “ I did not plan on being the last old soldier left standing” and “Every time I look outside the door the herd gets smaller and smaller” and lastly “I did not want to be an unclaimed treasure.” This was a brief verbal portrait of Jerry, a kind but private fellow.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Monday, February 26, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
