Jesús Manuel Rosa-Rivera was better known as Manolo or Manolito by his loved ones. He was born on August 23, 1964 under the warnings of Storm Cleopatra at Ashford Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His parents were Juan Manuel Rosa Buso (deceased) and Carmen Lucila Rivera Santana.
Manolo grew up in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. During his childhood, he enjoyed playing with his siblings, cousins, and gardening with his maternal grandmother "Cayita." He loved to dance and above all listen to his favorite music such as Salsa, Merengue and the typical Christmas music of Puerto Rico. He enjoyed music so much that he learned to play Spanish acoustic guitar, the Puerto Rican cuatro, the maracas, and Puerto Rican güiro. Some of his favorite artists were Héctor Lavoe and Cheo Feliciano, hence his saying "FAMILIA".
He attended elementary school at Colegio Santo Domingo in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. His middle school was at the International Academy in Maracaibo and in Maracay, Venezuela and at the International School in Barranquilla, Colombia. He graduated from high school at Dr. Agustin Stahl in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. For the next few years, he studied architecture at the School of Architecture in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, but decided to go on active duty with the U.S. Armed Forces.
On October 17, 1986, Manolo joined the United States Army.
He was stationed in South Korea, Fort Gordon in Georgia, and Fort Sam Houston in Texas. He loved San Antonio so much that he decided to leave active duty and stay in San Antonio.
Manolo continued to serve his country as a Reservist in the U.S. Army. And in turn, he worked as an Information Assurance (IA) Technician in a private company and then as a federal employee at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
During this time, he also graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology Sciences. Manolo completed his twenty years of military service in the U.S. Army and retired as First Sergeant and received an Honorable Discharge.
In 2010 he met Laura (Lauri) whom he loved unconditionally and whom he married on August 20, 2015. Laura loved Manolo immensely in good times and bad and took care of him until his last breath with all the love that only she knew how to give Manolo.
Manolo is survived by: His wife Laura Rosa (Lauri), his mother Carmen Lucila Rivera (Luchy), his siblings Juan Manuel Rosa (Junior), Carmen Teresa Rosa (Tere) and Rufo Manuel Rosa.
His nephews Henry Takashi Yamada, nephew-godson Keith Lee Yamada, Juan Manuel Rosa (Manny), Carlos Javier Rosa,
Caroleena Rosa, and Juan Jesús Rosa.

Jesús Manuel Rosa-Rivera, mejor conocido como Manolo o Manolito por sus seres queridos. Nació un 23 de agosto del 1964 bajo los avisos de la tormenta Cleopatra en el Hospital Ashford en San Juan, Puerto Rico. Sus padres fueron Juan Manuel Rosa Buso (fallecido) y Carmen Lucila Rivera Santana.
Manolo nacio en Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Durante su infancia, disfrutaba jugar con sus hermanos, primos y trabajar en el jardín con su abuela materna "Cayita". Le encantaba bailar y sobre todo escuchar su música preferida como la Salsa, Merengue y la música típica navideña de Puerto Rico. Tanto disfrutaba la música que aprendió tocar guitarra acústica española, el cuatro puertorriqueño, las maracas y güiro puertorriqueño. Unos de sus artistas favoritos fueron Héctor Lavoe y Cheo Feliciano, de ahí venia su dicho "FAMILIA".
Estudio su escuela elemental en el Colegio Santo Domingo en Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Su escuela intermedia fue en la Academia Internacional en Maracaibo y en Maracay, Venezuela y en la Escuela Internacional en Barranquilla, Colombia. Se graduó de la escuela superior en la Dr. Agustín Stahl en Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Durante los próximos años estuvo estudiando arquitectura en la Escuela de Arquitectura en Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, pero decidió irse al Servicio Activo con las Fuerzas Armadas de Estados Unidos.
El 17 de octubre del 1986, Manolo ingreso al Ejercito de Estados Unidos. Estuvo asignado en Corea del Sur, Fort Gordon en Georgia, y Fort Sam Houston en Texas. Le encanto tanto San Antonio que decidió licenciarse del servicio activo y quedarse en San Antonio.
Manolo continuó sirviendo a su país como Reservista en el Ejército de Estados Unidos. Y a su vez, trabajaba como Técnico de Aseguramiento de Información (IA) en una compañía privada y luego como empleado federal en la base aérea Kelly en San Antonio, Texas. Durante este tiempo también se graduó con un Bachillerato en Ciencias de Información Tecnológica. Manolo terminó sus veinte años de servicio militar se retiró como Primer Sargento y recibió un licenciamiento honorable de las fuerzas armadas de Estados Unidos.
