Jimmy Pothitakis

To the friends and family of Jimmy J. Pothitakis,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jimmy J. Pothitakis, who passed away on July 25, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 77. He was born on December 9, 1947, in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved daughters, Jennifer C. Pothitakis and Connie A. Rivers, and his three grandsons, Eric P. Rivers, David L. Rivers, and Michael A. Rivers. He also leaves behind his niece, Carol A. Pothitakis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Demetrios Pothitakis, and his ex-wife and friend, Henrietta C. Martinez.

Jimmy and his parents relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas, where they pursued their dream of owning a beachfront restaurant. Jimmy dedicated himself to supporting the family business until he began his college career at the University of Houston. He eventually settled in San Antonio, Texas, where he started his own insurance business and resided until his passing.

Jimmy loved his daughters and family with his whole being and would have done anything to ensure they had what they needed to be safe, informed, and successful. He was known for having a high intellect, unwavering loyalty, and honesty, while also possessing a quick and quirky sense of humor that was endeared to all who knew him. All of those traits will be deeply missed.

Dad, we were not ready for you to leave us this soon. The pain and sorrow of losing you is so unbearable, it takes our breath away. We will always miss you and love you until the end of our days.
