Juan B. Cantu Jr., age 62 years, was reunited with his Heavenly Father on December 27th, 2016 surrounded by his children, grand children and great grandchildren. He was born May 3rd, 1954 to Juan B. Cantu, Sr. and Consuelo Young of New Braunfels, Texas.He married Ernestina Serna, and together they were blessed with nine children. Juan was an avid car enthusiast, Many days you could find him beneath the hood of a car while enjoying Tejano music. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, protector, teacher and jokester. He is better known to some as "Boxhead;" a term of endearment given to him during his younger years. He loved attending car shows and his dream project was to restore his El Camino. When asked what he would like for special occasions, he would reply that he wanted a Franklin, giftcard to Subway, or a giftcard to AutoZone. If there was a Big Red, Honeybun, bean dip in the house, you would find them in his hands. He enjoyed watching "Grease Monkey," "Bizarre Foods," and American Hot Rod." One of his last requests was that his children and grandchildren pursue their education and learn to become stronger individuals. Juan is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughters Adrianna Cantu, Laila Jade Garcia, and grandson Jon Jacob Rosales. He is also preceded in death by his father-in law-, Roberto Serna, and mother-in-law Guadalupe Serna. He is survived by his sister, Oralia Boatwright, and her children Denise Mata and Mando (BooBoo) Mata. Mando's wife Sophie and their daughter. He is also survived by Denise's two daughters and a son. Step-daughter Cynthia De La Fuente and three daughters. Step-daughter Angela De La Fuente Pena and her husband Paul, and their three children. Step-daughter Gina De La Fuente Gomez and her husband Ruben, and their four children. Step-daughter Yvonne De La Fuente Ortiz, husband Eli and their two children. Daughter Tammy Cantu Wilcott and husband Dedric and their five children. Son John Anthony Cantu (Gordo), his wife Rosie and six children. Son Bernardo (Benny) Cantu and five children. Son Juan (Johnny) Cantu IIII, his wife Heather and five children. His daughter Annette Cantu, her fiancAC. Gregg Welch and their four children. He was here with us for a while, but has returned to our Heavenly Father for eternity. Although he is gone, he will continue to live in our hearts until the day we are reunited. Pallbearers include Cynthia De La Fuente, Angela De La Fuente, Gina De La Fuente Gomez, Yvonne De La Fuente Ortiz, Tammy Cantu Wilcott and Annette Cantu. Honorary Pallbearers include Mando Mata and Rosie Cantu. A Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78239, on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 from 5:00PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
