Mary Dickey

Mary Ann Dickey (85), of San Antonio, Texas, passed away at home on December 14th, 2015. Born in Mercedes, Texas, March 27th, 1930, she worked as a switchboard operator and received multiple commendations. She married Howard M. Gore, Sr. July 1st, 1952 and had two children, Theresa Ann and Clarence Horton, Sr. Her husband passed away june 15th, 1981. Later she married Floyd Ray Dickey on November 1st, 1982. Mary Ann and Floyd loved traveling and listening to country music. She had a passion for life, family, friends, camping, fishing and gardening. She was also a huge fan of the Spurs and the music of George Strait. She never knew a stranger and loved people with a fierceness unlike anyone and would help anyone. Everyone waited on their birthdays for a call from Mary Ann as she would always sing her special birthday song (sometimes people would not answer their phones so it would be recorded on their answering machines!). A fighter who fought until the very end. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Billy, Sarah Jane, Charlotte, Marjorie and Evelyn; brothers Johnny and William Austin Onderdonk, Jr. Mary Ann is survived by husband Floyd Ray of San Antonio, daughter Theresa Ann of San Antonio, Texas, son Clarence and wife Sandra, grandson Clarence (C.J.) and wife Analisa, brothers Ernest and wife Florence, Bobby and wife Linda, Daniel, and Lawrence and wife Sarah and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Visitation: Thursday, December 17th, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 7735 Gibbs Sprawl Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78239. Funeral is Friday, December 18th, 2015 at 10:00 AM also at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
