Michael Anthony Brune

May 13, 1958 — December 18, 2025

Micheal A. Brune Sr, a father of four and grandfather to eleven died unexpectedly on December 18, 2025. He was 67 years old.

A friend to all and respected by most, he spent a lifetime dedicated to his family, providing love and support until his last breaths.

A son, born to Josephine and fathered by Francisco, grew up in San Antonio, Texas, home of the Spurs basketball team, for whom he was an avid fan of.

"Brune" affectionately known by classmates, played the trumpet at Holmes High School where he had a popular social life and wild adventures that carried on into the early years of his adolescence.

He married in 1976 and welcomed his first child at age 20.

After 43 years at the San Antonio based company Frito-Lay, Michael retired from a fidelity of service where he was awarded with achieving recognitions in safety and receiving, employee of the month, associate of the year, and even had a hand in building the children's playground in 1989 at the Hemisphere Park located downtown. However, with a diligently engraved work ethic and enthusiasm for the automotive industry instilled at a young age, "Mike," unable to sit for too long without being productive, sought and gained employment at a local mechanic shop shortly after, where he continued to worked part-time.

As a lover of assorted cuisine, delicacies, and favored indulgences, his most cherished times were spent in the company of loved ones, sat at a table, discussing current events, reminiscing of past times, and catching up on the lives he cared for.

He enjoyed washing his many cars on Tuesdays and taking the time to enjoy a favorite or new beverage while tending to the lush foliage he cultivated on the patio of his apartment, waving to neighbors and welcoming bees and even spiders to co-exist in his little squared off oasis.

He had an unwavering adherence to attend every holiday gathering, birthday party, soccer game, dance performance, cheerleading competition, theater production, school event, work recognition, achievement ceremony, and celebration of life he was asked to or expected at.

Above all, regardless of circumstances, his children and grandchildren had remained faithfully his highest priority. Although separate from his wife of 49 years, the two remained amicable and united, representing a rare architecture of what they believe family is meant to be, with unconditional love.

Mike Brune will be honored with warm admiration from family and friends, close and distant, all with endearing memories that shall be carried forever in each of their hearts.
