Obituary

Otilia Y. Robles, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed peacefully on May 8, 2026, at 8:22 a.m., surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. She was 78 years old.

Born on July 20, 1947, in Fentress, Texas, Otilia was the daughter of Pilar and Faustina Yanes. She was one of five siblings and was preceded in death by her three sisters and brother.

Otilia shared a beautiful and enduring love story with her husband of 58 years, Louis P. Robles. Their journey together began in middle school in San Antonio, Texas, where they first met as children and built a lifetime rooted in faith, commitment, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

Together they raised three sons, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life. Otilia was a present and devoted mother who loved her sons tremendously. She made daily phone calls to each of her three sons to ask about their day and how their families were doing. She never missed a day — a beautiful reflection of her unwavering, unconditional love and deep devotion to her children.

A devout Catholic and woman of deep Chirstian faith, Otilia was the spiritual foundation of her family. Prayer was woven into every part of her life. Whether in the quiet of the morning, throughout the day, or before rest at night, she remained steadfast in her relationship with God. She introduced her family to faith not only through words, but through her daily example of compassion, empathy, generosity, and prayer.

Otilia had remarkable strength, discipline, and determination. In addition to being a supportive wife and wonderful mother she simultaneously dedicated nearly 40 years to the Edgewood Independent School District and subsequently the San Antonio Independent School District before retiring. Even retirement could not keep her away from serving others. She later worked for the San Antonio Auto Auction and eventually returned to the San Antonio Independent School District, where she became deeply involved with elementary campuses and fundraising efforts that supported underprivileged children and families in need.

Outside of her work and ministry to her family, Otilia embraced life fully. She had a unique talent for crafting, especially decorating during the holidays. She was an exceptional cook whose enchiladas became legendary among family and friends. She enjoyed keeping up with current events, listening to Tejano music and praise and worship songs, shopping at her favorite department stores, and appreciating the finer things in life.

One of her greatest joys was traveling with her husband and family. From cruises, visiting Jerusalem to simply spending time with her grandchildren wherever they were, she treasured every opportunity to create memories with the people she loved most.

Above all else, Otilia will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her fierce love for her family. Her presence was steady, comforting, and deeply impactful to all who knew her.

Her legacy lives on through her loving husband, Louis; her children and daughters-in-law, David (Linda), Dennis (Kelly), and Daryl (Cassandra); her eight beloved grandchildren, Savina (David), Clarissa (Joshua), David, Madelyn, Gabrielle, James, Charlotte, and Jackson; and her two cherished great-grandchildren, Elora and Eliseo.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered
