Peggy Mcnulty

Mrs. Joseph McNulty, beloved wife and mother, passed away November 26th 2012 at North East Baptist Hospital after a lengthy illness at the age of 72. Her family was at her bedside.

Peggy Valera (Lera) was born February 17th 1940 in Harris County Georgia, one of 6 children born to Marshall Johnson Wilburn Duke and wife Ida Victoria Orrick. Her siblings included Luther Laymon, Raymond Curtis, Virgil Franklin, John Allen and Lillie Viola. Peggy also had 3 half brothers from her father's first marriage; Marvin Wilburn, Alfred Bernard (Bunk) and James Aubrey, all deceased.

She married Joseph Anthony McNulty September 7th 1957 in Cusetta Georgia. They met while Joseph, better known as "Mac", was stationed in Muskogee. Peggy made a home in several locations, wherever her husband was stationed while serving 26 years in the army, including stops in France, Germany, Connecticut, California and Washington State and Texas. Stations in Texas included El Paso and San Antonio where the family ended up settling down 3 years after Mac's retirement in 1979.

Peggy's primary interests were her church and her family, although both Mac and Peggy were active members of the Montgomery volunteer fire department for several years. She was a devout member of the Harvest Hill Baptist church.

Mrs. McNulty is survived by her devoted husband Joseph and two brothers Virgil and John of Georgia. Five surviving children are Patricia and husband Derek Dehle of San Antonio, Joseph and wife Joyce of Dallas, Tx., Suzanne Messer of San Antonio, Michael and wife Edna of San Antonio & Ann Marie and husband Tim Nance of Colorado. There are five granchildren, Jason Dehle of Denton Tx, Sarah Dehle Adams of Kyle Tx, Ian Dehle of San Antonio, Deeaann Dehle of San Antonio & Amber Messer of Pflugerville Tx. There are also four great grandchildren Kenzie Adams, Kiley Adams, Kaylynn Adams & Ethan Anthony Capuano, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mr & Mrs McNulty lost children Rosemary who passed in 1961 as an infant while in France and Rachel who passed in 1994.
