Raymond Burk

November 5, 1956 — February 23, 2021

Raymond Roy Burk, age 65, of Live Oak, passed away in the late morning hours of February 23, 2021, after a brief illness.  Raymond was born on November 5, 1956 to Charlie Vernon and Edith Loraine May Burk. Raymond graduated from Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1975.  He then pursued advancing his education by attending Palo Alto College and UTSA.

Raymond went on to work for H-E-B where he earned the role of Fleet Manager and retired after 20 plus years of dedicated service.

Raymond was a dedicated father to his daughters, leaving behind a lifetime of memories.  When they were younger, Raymond loved spending time with his girls – sometimes it was skating, bowling, or going to the movies.  Many memories were made while scuba diving, camping, and attending concerts at Sea World.  To his girls, Raymond was the best father, friend and singing partner belting out the oldies while driving down the road.

As they all grew up and started lives of their own, Raymond was never far away.  Impromptu visits were common with Dad and many stories were made at birthday parties and holiday gatherings.  In his free time, Raymond enjoyed wood working, NASCAR, baseball, football and anything to keep himself busy, especially working on cars and fixing anything that needed fixing around his daughters homes, at the farm or building additions to his mothers house.

Raymond leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication that will live on in the hearts of those he knew and loved.

Raymond is survived by his common law wife, Ellen Cooper from Live Oak; the mother of his four daughters and two step-daughters, Marjorie Lois Postert Burk, from Floresville; daughter, Chasity Nanette Burk Doege, and husband Jason Wade Doege, their children Justin Wrangler, Colten Nathaniel and Cheyenne Nicole Doege from Saint Hedwig; daughter, Lizette Elaine Burk and her daughter Dakota Elaine Hastings, from Floresville; daughter, Katrina Lynn Burk Bartlett, and husband Jason Bartlett, and their children, Avrial Marie Burk and Ian Thomas Bartlett, from Floresville; daughter, Stephanie JoAnn Burk Flores, and husband Ted Flores III, and their children, Faye Riley and Paige Rylan Flores, from Floresville; step-daughter, Angelica Rose Courvier and Kimberly Jane Courvier along with Kim’s daughter Shirley Jane Romero from Floresville; 5 brothers, Vernon Roy Burk, and wife Anita Burk, from San Antonio, Johnny Lee Burk from Floresville, John Robert Burk, and wife Rosie Burk, from Moore, Frank Lewis Burk, and wife Jacqueline Burk, from Floresville, and Billy Joe Burk, and wife Lana Burk, from Yancy; 3 sisters, Beverly Jean Collins, and husband Charles Collins, from China Grove; Betty Loraine Burk, and husband Tom Paulson, from Floresville; Brenda Joe Jones, and husband Clifford Jones, from San Antonio; and by several nieces and nephews along with several great nieces and nephews.
