It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Weldon Ueckert, 91, on August 30, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Raymond was Born on January 12, 1933, in Winters, Texas to Norbert and Irma Ueckert. Raymond proudly served his country as an Army veteran. After his service Raymond along with his wife (Sudie) moved to Kirby Texas, where they raised four children, he worked and retired from Coastal Transport as a Fuel Truck Driver. After the passing of Sue, he was lost but later found his best friend, camping partner and final love, his wife Barbara who was by his side every day.
He enjoyed woodworking, feeding squirrels, bird watching, collecting and discussing john deer tractor mementos, along with listening to polka music. Raymond loved tent camping at Big Bend and cherished time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Jane Ueckert; sister Elsie Barnett of Lavernia; daughters Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Bentrup of Winters, Texas Teresa Ann Vogel of San Antonio; son Terry L Ueckert and wife Cindy of San Antonio; stepdaughter Stephanie Brown and husband Steve of Converse, Texas; and stepson Scott Calo and wife Linda of New Hampshire. He is also survived by grandchildren Michael Moran, Gene Bentrup, Nathan Bentrup, Kristy Bentrup, Melissa Gonzalez, Debra Vogel, Karly Ueckert Henson, Katelyn Ueckert, and Cody Ueckert, along with twelve great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his first wife, Sudie Ann Ueckert (41 years); parents Norbert and Irma Ueckert; sister Nelda Voss; brother Clifton Ueckert; daughter Nancy Elizabeth Moran; and grandsons Michael Allen Vogel Jr. and Wesley Vogel, as well as granddaughters Lindsey Bentrup and Wendy Vogel.
Raymond will be remembered for his loving spirit and the profound impact he had on all who knew him.
