Sherry Sue Humphreys

Sherry Sue (Hardy) Humphreys, 70, of San Antonio, Texas, was called by our Lord on July 2, 2025 after nine days in the hospital.

Sherry was born on September 21,1954 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of Kathleen (Cunningham) Hardy and Herbert Hardy.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald (Don) Humphreys, her children Christopher Humphreys, Stacy Humphreys, Stephanie Humphreys, Savannah Humphreys, and her sibling brothers Larry Wallis, Vernon Wallis, sisters Rita Caldwell, Kandy Martinez and her grandchildren Delaney Ellison, Zayne Humphreys, Joshua Humphreys, Tyler Humphreys, Hailey Humphreys, Jayce Humphreys, Geneiveve Suarez and Troy (TJ) Ellison.

Sherry was preceded in death by her grandson Ty Ellison, her parents Kathleen (Cunningham) Hardy and Herbert Hardy, and her siblings Tammy Hardy, Kathleen Kite and Herbert Hardy and Darlene and Cecil Wallis, who were like her 2nd parents.

Sherry and Don were married for almost 50 years.

Sherry enjoyed her work. She worked at both SWBC (now AT&T) and San Antonio Business Journal. She became a great salesperson. Her passion was bringing over exchange students. She did this for twelve years. She made many friends and enjoyed keeping in touch with them.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren immensely. Sherry was a great cook, but she really enjoyed sneaking out for a meal, especially breakfast with her husband. She also loved going to Vegas to participate in slot tournaments with Darlene Wallis and her Father Herbert Hardy. She also enjoyed visiting her sister Kathy Kite in Port Aransas.

A funeral service will be held on July 16th at 11:00am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with viewing the evening before on July 15th at 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life.
