In Loving Memory of Susan “Susie” Polasek

August 26, 1965 – November 3, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan “Susie” Polasek, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who entered her eternal resting place on November 3, 2025.

Born on August 26, 1965, Susan was known for her warmth, humor, and occasionally sarcastic wit—qualities that brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Her favorite melody was the sound of loved ones’ laughter, and no one was immune to her infectious spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and Bobby Powell, her brother Kevin Powell, sister-in-law Annamarie Powell, and mother-in-law Vivian Polasek.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff Polasek; loving daughters Megan Long and Samantha Polasek; cherished son-in-law Michael Long; and brothers Tony and Cliff Powell. She is also survived by her stepmother Pat Powell, father-in-law David Polasek, sister-in-law Debbie Polasek, nephew Lenson Smith, and niece Kaitlyn Smith, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and treasured friends. Her heart was also shared with their family pup, Rugger, and grand-pups Zoey, Koda, and Nala.

Born into a military family, Susan spent her early years traveling the world—living in Turkey, Japan, and across the United States. She graduated from Judson High School in 1983 and began her long-standing career with SACU / Credit Human Credit Union in 1984. After 39 dedicated years, she retired in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, hard work, and friendship. She married her one true love, Jeff Polasek, in 1986 after a first date in 1983. Inseparable at almost 40 years their love story welcomed two beautiful daughters and an equally beloved son-in-law.

Yet Susan’s proudest accomplishments were not measured in titles or accolades, but in the milestones of her loved ones—her becoming a devoted catholic, watching her eldest daughter marry, seeing her youngest daughter open her own business, and celebrating the simple joys of family and home. With a soft spot for sweet tea and a fondness for the color purple, Susan lived with sincerity, grace, and a contagious sense of joy.

A woman of great heart and quiet strength, Susan cared deeply for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America and cancer awareness causes, embodying her belief in kindness and the power of self-belief.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will continue to be a guiding light-a symbol of compassion, love, and resilience.
