December 16, 1950 — June 21, 2025

TED’S MARATHON RACE

Teodoro (Ted) Becerra Bencomo, a native of Seguin, Texas, arrived at the starting line on December 16, 1950 being cheered on by his loving parents, the late Luciano Bencomo and Isabel Becerra Bencomo.

During the course of his race, the seed of God’s love and word was planted in him early as he grew up faithfully attending mass in the Catholic Church. As a young adult, he and his brother Eliverto (Live) played guitar during the worship services. He had a love for music and dancing.

As Ted continued his race, in 1974, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a proud veteran serving as a Combat Engineer during the Vietnam Era. Upon his honorable discharge as a Staff Sargent, he enlisted in the US Army Reserve and continued to proudly serve his country.

While on the course of his journey, was introduced to the gospel and loving grace of Jesus Christ. Ted became a born-again believer, accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He became a member of Storehouse Ministry Fellowship, where he was later licensed as a Minister. He was faithful in ministering services while exercising the gift of an Evangelist. He was bold, courageous and unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and a witness everywhere he went.

In early 2005 Ted met Cynthia. Their relationship grew them closer together and they united in holy matrimony on March 11, 2006. Cynthia was his biggest supporter and cheered him on through every course of his race. When the course got hard, his body feeling the pain of endurance, she was there to walk alongside him to the finishing line.

Minister Ted was gifted with his hands and exemplified many talents and skills throughout his career. He worked and retired from Randolph Fields Independent School District (RFISD) as head Custodian. He took great pride in his staff and facilities. After retirement, Ted opened his flooring business, Better and Brighter Floors.

His journey continued as he became a faithful servant at Kingdom Life Christian Ministries (KLCM). He served faithfully as a facility leader, taking pride in maintaining the Lord’s house. He was diligent in service to the Outreach/Street Evangelism Ministry. He hosted the first Spanish speaking, small group Bible Study, in addition to a small group Bible Study at Dominguez State Jail, in San Antonio. Ted served as a Spanish speaking interpreter in many of the local services at KLCM.

Minister Ted was a faithful community companion with Missionaries with The Vision. In 2017 he graduated from an extensive Mentorship, Internship, Discipleship Program. He was diligent in prayer and many service activities hosted by the ministry and served as a Spanish interpreter.

As Teodoro (Ted) Becerra Bencomo approached the finishing line, his steps were shorter, his body was worn, his strength failing. Nevertheless, he pressed until the very end, trusting God every step of the way. He victoriously crossed the finishing line on June 21, 2025. His glorious crown of righteousness was awaiting his arrival.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luciano Bencomo, Sr., mother, Isabell Becerra Bencomo, younger brother, Luciano Bencomo, Jr., nephew Robert Bencomo, and niece, Bianca Bencomo.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife Cynthia; six children (three biological): Lisa Bencomo, Michael (Leticia) Bencomo, Seguin, TX; Teodoro Bencomo, Jr., Converse, TX; Cynathia Broadnax, Harold Broadnax, Jr., San Antonio, TX; Imani Broadnax, Wichita Falls, TX; five beautiful grandchildren: Anthony Bencomo, Isabella Bencomo, Gabriella Broadnax, Harold Broadnax, III (Tre), and Gavin Baines; one brother, Eliverto (Live) Bencomo, Seguin, TX. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day ~ and not to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
