Verna Bernal

Verna Ann Bernal was born May 3, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas to Samuel R. Bernal and Seferina Martinez Bernal.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoyed music and dancing. She also whole-heartedly enjoyed her family and friends. Known for giving excellent advice, she never judged anyone, and because of this she was loved by many. Verna gave 18 years of dedicated service to the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District.

Verna passed away on December 11, 2022, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel R., and Seferina M. Bernal, two brothers: Daniel M. and James A. Bernal.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Estella O. (Luis) Morales, son, Jose Luis Calderon, grandchildren: Jose G, Jesus M., and Leticia G. Siegel, a great-grandchild: Jaxon A. Siegel, brother, Samuel D. (Elena) Bernal, Jr., two sisters-in-law: Maria G. Bernal and Maria A. Bernal, and many nieces and nephews.
