Paul Everling

March 2, 1955 — May 12, 2021

Paul Franklin Everling passed away too soon at the age of 66, on May 12, 2021 at home with his wife & brother by his side, after a valiant battle with lung cancer.  He will be dearly missed by many family and friends.

Paul was born in San Antonio, TX at Lackland AFB, on March 2, 1955.  He is the son of the late Eugene Paul Franklin and Bobby Jean Trusdel.
Paul was a dedicated member of River City Community Church in Selma and enjoyed a loving friendship with Pastor Sean Azzaro.  He loved attending church and worshipping Jesus.

Paul graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1973 in San Antonio, and enlisted into the Air Force the same year.  He was a Medical Assistant at the USAF Hospital.  He did tours in many countries, including Spain and Turkey.

Paul had a huge loving heart and always looked for the good in everyone, and would help in any way possible.  He was given an Award for bravery at the young age of 13, when he dove into a body of water to save a drowning car crash victim.  It was reported on KENS5 TV in July 1968.
Paul was the loving husband of Rachel Elaine Jackson since 1998.  They began their freindship in 1995 when Rachel brought Paul a Happy 40th birthday balloon.  They were the whole world to each other. They packed a lot of love and adventure into their time together with trips to Ireland, Cozumel, Vieques, Bon Aire and many local spots.  Paul loved diving and snorkeling and the beach.

Paul is survived by his wife Rachel, and his son Robert Paul Everling "Bob" [wife Crystal "Michelle"] of Conroe, TX, Bobby's mother Vonita Pederson "Kitty" [husband John]; and his daughter Ashley Blake Bernhard [fiance Christian Delaney] of San Antonio, TX, Ashley's mother Elizabeth Rossetti.  Paul loved his grandchildren Austin Blackmon, Zachary Everling, Kya Lilix Bernhard, Akina Au Bernhard, Stephen Robert Bernhard, and Mavis-Elizabeth Rosilyn Delaney, and step granddaughter Jodene Delaney. Paul was able to spend quality time with his brother David Eugene Everling [wife Laura Cano Everling] and was so grateful for all of David's support and help.  Paul loved his nephews David and Jason Everling. Paul's sister Brenda Kowalik and step mother LaJoyce Mitschke of Canyon Lake were a big part of his life.
