Ruth Marchena de Reyes falleció a los 81 años de edad, el día viernes, 18 de Junio, 2021. Nació en el departamento de San Marcos, Guatemala el día Junio 28, 1940. En 1952, a los 12 años de edad, ella se dedicó y se bautizó como Testigo de Jehová.  Ella, fielmente dedicó su vida al servicio, ya que sirvió como precursora por muchos años en Guatemala, El Salvador, y en los Estados Unidos.

Ruth se casó el 28 de marzo de 1961 con Roberto Antonio Reyes. Formó así, una familia con Roberto y sus cuatro hijos.  Nunca olvidando su promesa a Jehová Dios, se empeñó en la educación de sus hijos con la guianza bíblica.  Ella disfrutaba pasar el tiempo con los niños, especialmente sus nietos y bisnietos. Siempre fue su deseo ser maestra, y llevó a cabo su meta cuando empezó su carrera como Testigo de Jehová, ya que tuvo la oportunidad de enseñar las verdades bíblicas a través de estudios que conducía personalmente. También se empeñó en enseñar estos tesoros bíblicos a sus nietos, bisnietos, y a toda persona que tenía el privilegio de conocerla.

Le encantaba cocinar, y hacer comiditas especiales para su querido esposo.  Ella siempre buscaba la manera de demostrarle hospitalidad a sus hermanos y hermanas en la fe, y a su prójimo. También le gustaba cuidar sus flores y sus periquitos. En su tiempo libre, disfrutaba de leer su Biblia y  su revista La Atalaya. Sus pasatiempos favoritos eran ir de compras, siempre buscando el regalo perfecto para sus familiares. También le gustaba disfrutar de la naturaleza y la buena cocina.

Le sobreviven su esposo por 60 años, Roberto Antonio Reyes; sus hijos e hijas Alubia Ivana, Roberto Misael, Jacobo, y Ruth Geraldina; 8 nietos; 11 bisnietos; sus hermanos Marina viuda de Avila, Mario Scheel, y Amalia de Ruiz; y otros familiares. Será profundamente extrañada hasta que llegue el día de la resurrección.


Ruth Marchena de Reyes passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the age of 81. She was born in the city of San Marcos, Guatemala. In 1952 at the age of 12, she dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Faithfully, she served as a pioneer for many years in Guatemala, El Salvador, and the United States.

Ruth married Roberto Antonio Reyes on March 28,1961 and went on to form a family with her husband and four children. Never forgetting the promise, she made to Jehovah God, she endeavored to educate her children with scriptural guidance. She loved spending time with young ones, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was always her desire to become a teacher. She met that goal during her career as a Jehovah’s Witness. She had the privilege to teach bible truths and share her faith by conducting personal bible studies. Ruth endeavored to teach these biblical treasures to her children, grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her enjoyments were to cook, she loved to make special meals for her dear husband.  She always sought the way to demonstrate hospitality for her brothers and sisters, and for her fellow man. She also found pleasure in taking care of her flowers and parakeets. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading her Bible and the Watchtower magazines. Some of her favorite hobbies were shopping for the perfect gifts to give to her family members, enjoying nature, and going out for a great meal.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roberto Antonio Reyes; her sons and daughters, Alubia Ivana, Roberto Misael, Jacobo, and Ruth Geraldina; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marina viuda de Avila, Mario Scheel, and Amalia de Ruiz; and various other family members.  She will be deeply missed until the day of resurrection.
