Susan Juvette

Susan Louise JuVette, age 78, of Windcrest, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Stillwaters Personal Care Home, after a hard-fought battle with dementia.  Susan was born on May 13, 1942 in Superior, Wisconsin to the late Frank G. and Julia Gabrys Golden. After high school, Susan earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin at Superior.  She was an active member of the student body who enjoyed the life of a college student while focusing on her studies.

Susan married the love of her life, and her best friend, Ervin Melvin JuVette, on August 15, 1964 in Superior, Wisconsin.  After a brief courtship, an engagement soon followed that saw Ervin lose two teeth, not once, but twice, in the months leading up to the wedding.  The latter incident only two weeks before the nuptials were scheduled to be married.  Ervin avoided a truly memorable wedding by having his teeth fixed merely 3 days before the wedding.  After 56 years of adventures, the raising of three sons, and a lifetime of memories, he survives.

Susan and family were a military family through and through, Ervin being a member of the United States Air Force.  Throughout their travels in his career, for 36 years straight, Susan made sure her family loaded up and went home to Wisconsin to see their beloved family.  She worked in elementary education for the span of her working years, 36 in total, last working at Macarthur Park Lutheran School.  Susan loved the little kids and cherished the time she was able to spend with them and prepare them for their future.

Ervin and Susan were longtime members of the United Methodist Church at Windcrest where she was an active member of the Sunday school class and the Woman’s Circle.  She was a vital part of Vacation Bible School where she would get to spend just a little more time with the children she loved so much.

Those who knew Sue best will remember the love she had for her beloved family.  Her best memories were spent at “the ranch” in Three Rivers with her grandchildren.  Traditions were very important to her, from carving pumpkins to decorating the Christmas tree or just sitting beside the fire, Susan loved the time she was able to have with her family and grandchildren. While she enjoyed crafts and traveling with Ervin, her passion in life was taking care of Erv.

Susan leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her school children, her family, and most importantly, her husband, that will live on in their hearts for generations to come.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ervin M. JuVette; sons, Paul T. JuVette, and wife Tricia, of New Braunfels, and Joel F. JuVette, and wife Karen, of San Antonio; grandchildren, Ripley Chase JuVette and Reagan Miranda JuVette; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Mark E. JuVette, who is laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Funeral services for Susan Louise JuVette will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Cremation will follow where she will then be scattered at the family ranch.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
